The first on-site phase of the Karibu Kimintet project was the re-activation of the school library, to make it a reference point both for the students and for all the villagers. The main actions through which this aim was achieved are: the architectural renovation of the space, the creation of partnerships and collaborations with organizations and local entities, the activation of Capacity Building processes, through which new skills are transferred to the teachers, ensuring the future operation of the library. With a focus on resources saving and sustainability, it was decided not to opt for the construction of a new building, but to operate with light renovations on the existing building, 

'Karibu Kimintet: The School In The Savannah' is asustainable architecture and rural development project that aims at the complete redevelopment of the Kimintet School, located in the village of Kirindon, on the border of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, in Kenya. The school, built since 1977, has about 200 students, divided into Pre-Primary, Primary and Junior Secondary Schools, and is currently in a degraded condition. Through specific interventions of renovation, new construction, landscaping, community engagement and capacity building, working in synergy with each other, the aim is to create spaces that foster access to quality education, in environments suitable for learning, making a positive impact not only on the school but on the entire community.
