In our constant endeavor to expose students to the multitude of issues of design and praxis, every year we envisage a series of summer and winter workshop programs at the School of Design, Auro University, where students and professional participants work in a conducive milieu away from a conventional classroom. These workshops are conducted by subject experts often in collaboration with artisans and open to students and professionals of varied disciplines of design. This conflate of students and professionals allows each participant to learn from a diverse pool of thought and thus broaden their knowledge of the design discipline. 

A constant endeavor to practice humanitarian architecture was calibrated in corroboration with artisans and building professionals. These benign interactions introduced students to various working methodologies and constructions technologies employed by building agencies working alongside. Therefore, the premise of this intense hands-on undertaking lies in devising a heuristic learning that takes place on actual site, away from conventional classroom and is deeply rooted in the making and detailing of the library at Bhatpore village. This workshop is central to making and detailing different design components using linear (bamboo, metal), casting (concrete) and masonry (brick) materials. The site is situated in the heart of village with an area of 2000sqft.
