Only what is forgotten dies. Images, words, smells and sensations, operating on daily life, promoting the preservation of rites, festivities and welcoming different  ways of living. A space occupied by the memory of many who are no are here and the others come who will come, a place to safeguard and protect the intangible facts immortalized in texts, images and objects that connect the present story with past events, actively and latently to fan the resistance of a territory of abandonment, deficiencies and oblivion.

In Colombia, since the signing of the peace agreement, more than 900 murders of social leaders have been registered, those who defended their peoples, their rights and raised their voices. Here the most insurgent disappears, generating fear in those who remain, championing the struggles and setbacks in the communities that are served.

The architecture shows the moment in which it is conceived, it is a political response, which serves the people to make themselves visible from within. Memory is materialized in different ways, that of knowledge, those that are transmitted from generation to generation thanks to artisanal knowledge in construction or gastronomy; the memory of the home includes knowing how to live in common unity, with whom blood, land or ideas are shared; and the memory of remembrance, that of yesterday's events, which cement today and catapult tomorrow; All of this makes Custody House Of Memory, a physical container of memories from the day of its conception.

A territory in permanent struggle. One of the priorities is to strengthen leadership in the communities, that they go from great to small and thus give continuity to the construction of solid, autonomous territories in which identity remains over time, resisting against acculturation processes .

A meeting space, in a territory surrounded by privatized nature and where the public space is the street; It aims to be the place that protects the objects that give historical meaning to the community, as well as events that allow to evoke life experiences. Recognizing local materials such as brick and clay tile, guadua, cane brava and construction systems on land allow the work to be environmentally and technically sustainable, encouraging popular and collective education of the constructions of this territory; teachings that are multiplied in the future for self-managed housing improvement. The economic sustainability of Custody House Of Memory is proposed with the sales of typical foods of the region, which count through the flavors of the struggles and resistance processes since the formation of the first palenques and the passage of the train.

Approximately 320 families will be able to use this space as a refuge for anecdotes, stories and articles that have built their identity, forged their character and fueled their collective resistance.

People in resistance. Doña Ilda, the woman leader of the community is the one who promotes the idea of ​​building a space for the memory of this territory; she accompanied by Don Albeiro, her husband, a retired electrical technician and her two children, Laura and Manuel.

Neighbors, close friends and family members are to feed stories, objects and support with voluntary labor, because here everything belongs to everyone, the 10 teachers of the Community Center, pedagogues and arts graduates also join these voluntary days. They contribute their knowledge to the complementary education of neighborhood children. In the documentary preservation of Custody House Of Memory, there are Master's thesis investigations by Psychologists, Artists, Architects, Ethnoeducators and Writers, who from their professional perspectives have found in San Isidro a territory rich in stories to tell, but above all, a tangible country reality that needs to be made visible. As support in the participatory and architectural design process, Ruta4 taller participates, a team that works based on the knowledge of the place to reflect in each space intentions, symbols and physical elements that contain the essence of the territory.

Construsocial, a group of teachers and construction assistants from the community, organized by Mauricio, Civil Engineer; that promotes construction through local materials and the exchange of collective work.
